Aurangabad girl committed suicide: Police
PATNA, Jan. 22 -- Amid the outrage over the death of a Jehanabad based NEET aspirant following suspected sexual assault in Patna, the police on Wednesday claimed the death of a 15-year-old girl of Aurangabad, living in another hostel in the Gandhi Maidan police station area, was by suicide, as determined by the postmortem report and a suicide note recovered from her room.
Aurangabad's girl was also preparing for NEET competitive exams, was found hanging in her hostel room on the same day when Jehanabad's NEET student was found unconscious in her hostel room.
City SP (Central) Diksha told reporters in the suicide case police had arrested an accused and sent him to judicial custody.
"The arrested accused was in contact with the girl. The boy knew that the girl was under stress. The last message was also sent by the girl to the boy. In the suicide note she mentioned that her preparation was not going on properly and she won't be able to crack NEET. She was under pressure of studies and was unable to do well," said the CSP.
"The suicide note has been sent to FSL," she said, adding that investigation was on against other suspects.
Police said the girl's father registered an FIR against two persons identified as--Mohd Mushahid Raza of Purnia and his friend Mohd Muqarram from Dinajpur in West Bengal. Hostel owners Vishal Agarwal, Rajiv Mishra and warden Khushboo had been also accused in the FIR. The mother of the deceased girl raised questions on the hostel authorities.
"Before the police reached the Perfect PG girls' hostel, Mushahid along with his friend arrived there. If the hostel rules were strict, outsider youths wouldn't have been able to reach inside where over 100 girls are staying ," the mother said, terming it as 'gross negligence' and demanding an impartial probe into the role of the hostel management.
According to her, around 1 pm on January 6, a call was received from the hostel management informing that the girl had committed suicide.
On hearing the news, the mother reached the hostel but her body was not there. The hostel management informed that it had been sent to PMCH.
Girl's last conversation with her mother was around 9.30 am on January 6. The girl told her mother that she was going to the bath and thereafter she would cook egg rice and eat it. The family says in that conversation, she was completely comfortable and talking about the future.
"We are residents of Aurangabad. My 15-year-old daughter used to stay at Perfect Girls' PG Hostel near Exhibition Road in Patna for study. On January 6, two boys murdered my daughter with the help of the hostel operator, warden and my daughter's friends," alleged the victim's mother....
