ASI stabbed in Bihar's Buxar while resolving family dispute
BUXAR, June 14 -- An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of police was stabbed while attempting to resolve a family dispute in Malahchakiya village under the jurisdiction of Muffasil police station in Buxar district on Thursday evening.
The injured ASI, identified as Nitish Kumar, was rushed to Buxar Sadar Hospital for treatment. Following the incident, Buxar superintendent of police (SP) Shubham Arya visited the hospital to assess the situation.
According to police, the ASI had received information that a youth in Malahchakiya was vandalising household items and threatening his family members with dire consequences. Upon reaching the house, the ASI found the youth, later identified as Satyendra Kumar, behaving aggressively and threatening his family.
When the ASI tried to intervene, Satyendra allegedly stabbed him multiple times, injuring him severely. His police uniform was soaked in blood, and the accused also smashed the ASI's mobile phone with a stone.
A police team soon reached the spot and arrested the accused, who was found hiding in a nearby house. A dagger used in the assault was also recovered from the site.
The SP further said that the accused is a drug addict and had also set his own house on fire during the episode. "He was arrested late Thursday night. The ASI is out of danger," Arya said....
