Arms recovered in raid on Maoists in Gaya Ji
GAYA JI, July 21 -- Gaya Ji police, 47th battalion of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and STF, recovered arms, ammunition and Maoist literature in a joint search operation against Maoists in Chhakarbandha forests.
On a specific intelligence input that Maoists were planning to attack the forces during ongoing operation against them in the forests and had collected firearms and ammunition at Kachnar village under Chhakarbandha police station, the forces led by Imamganj SDPO Amit Kumar, launched a thorough search in and around the village on Saturday, SSP Anand Kumar said. They searched a drain near the village and dug the soil. One pistol, 42 bullets of AK-47 and INSAS rifles and nine bundles of Naxal pamphlets and levy receipts, hidden underground near the drain, were recovered.
The SSP said the forces had intensified the search operation that would continue till the entire area was made Naxal-free....
