Amrit takes charge as new Bihar chief secy
Patna, Sept. 2 -- Pratyaya Amrit, a 1991-batch officer of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), on Monday assumed the charge of chief secretary, on retirement of his predecessor Amrit Lal Meena. Meena was given a warm send off by senior officers and staff on his last day of office here on Sunday.
Prior to this appointment, Amrit served as development commissioner.
S Siddharth, an IAS officer of 1991-batch, who was holding the charges of education and cabinet secretariat departments, has taken over as new development commissioner.
In a parallel development, B Rajender, who was serving as additional chief secretary in the general administration department (GAD), has been reassigned education department and has taken charge of his new role. Meanwhile, Arvind Kumar Chaudhary, additional chief secretary, has assumed the charge of cabinet secretariat department.
Following his retirement, former CS Meena met CM Nitish Kumar for a formal courtesy visit. Similarly, newly appointed CS Amrit also called on the CM after assuming charge....
