darbhanga, April 6 -- Boosting regional air connectivity, Akasa Air has launched a new daily direct flight service between Bengaluru and Darbhanga under the summer schedule effective from April 5 to October 23, 2026. According to Darbhanga airport director Dilip Kumar, the newly introduced flight QP1513 will depart from Bengaluru at 9.40 am and arrive in Darbhanga at 12.15 pm, while the return flight QP1514 will leave Darbhanga at 12.50 pm and reach Bengaluru at 3.30 pm. Sharing operational details for Sunday, Kumar said the airport recorded a total of 18 flight movements, including nine arrivals and nine departures. "A total of 2,821 passengers were handled today, with 1,415 arriving and 1,406 departing," he said. He further informed that the newly introduced Akasa flight witnessed strong occupancy on its inaugural day, with 160 passengers arriving and 164 departing on the sector. The addition of this route is expected to significantly enhance connectivity between north Bihar and southern India, catering to both business and migrant passengers while easing travel for residents of the Mithila region. Meanwhile, in a press release, Darbhanga MP Gopal Jee Thakur said that Darbhanga airport was inaugurated on November 8, 2020, under the UDAN Scheme. and that time, flight services between Darbhanga and Bengaluru were started by SpiceJet.
