Patna, Feb. 20 -- The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Patna, will integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into its healthcare services to improve patient care, enable faster diagnosis and strengthen digital health systems, officials said on Thursday. As the first step, AIIMS Patna signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The partnership also aims to enhance cybersecurity infrastructure for safeguarding sensitive medical data. Under the agreement, AI-enabled clinical decision support systems will assist doctors in analysing medical reports, radiological scans and laboratory data with greater speed and precision, enabling timely treatment. Advanced imaging analytics and deep-learning tools are expected to help in early detection of life-threatening conditions such as cancer and trauma-related injuries. Predictive data models will also support preventive healthcare by identifying high-risk patients for proactive monitoring and intervention, according to an AIIMS communique.
