Addl charge of Pataliputra Univ moves from VC to VC
PATNA, April 30 -- A couple of days after the interaction for appointment or vice chancellor of Pataliputra University was held at the Raj Bhawan, the acting VC Sharad Kumar Yadav, who is the VC of Aryabhatt Knowledge University (AKU), relinquished the additional charge.
The request of Yadav, who is the VC at Aryabhatt Knowledge University (AKU), to the Chancellor for relinquishing charge of Pataliputra University was immediately accepted by the Raj Bhawan and it was given to the Bihar Animal Science University VC Inderjeet Singh.

Yadav, who held the additional charge since January 15, said that he had offered to quit. "I have left the addition charge as it was proving difficult to manage at two places. Now the interaction for the new VC has also been held and so I decided to leave the additional charge," said Yadav.
Yadav cleared a lot of promotions in the Pataliputra University where he was holding additional charge, even though promotion in his parent university, AKU, is still stuck.
Sources said that the Pataliputra University was bogged down by controversies for one reason or the other, including appointment of juniors as principals and the ugly situation created with the registrar, and the Raj Bhawan was not happy with the goings on.
With the process for appointment of VC at Pataliputra University, one of the three universities that Nitish Kumar government had formed in 2018 with the objective of improving the higher education scenario in the state, in advanced stage, all eyes are on when the name would be announced. The panel of five names will be prepared and one of them will be appointed by the Chancellor in consultation with the state government.
Since its inception, the new university has been bogged down by ad-hocism and controversies. It has had two regular VCs -- both from UP institutions -- so far, and remained under additional charge for long periods....
