BETTIAH, Jan. 10 -- East Champaran superintendent of police (SP) Swarn Prabhat on Friday suspended an additional station house officer (ASHO) after five purported audio clips surfaced on social media, allegedly capturing the sub-inspector-rank officer demanding "money" in exchange for extending favour in a land dispute case. Sharing the information through WhatsApp group comprising police personnel and media representatives, the SP said the police officer Pankaj Kumar had the suspended in the wake of the audio clips doing the rounds. "During preliminary investigation, the matter appears to be true. The SDPO of Pakaridayal has been asked to submit the report in this connection," the SP said....
