SAMASTIPUR, Aug. 22 -- Unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants gunned down a youth on Thursday, who was enlarged on bail in a murder case two month ago, in Samastipur district, police said. Police further said that the incident occurred at Satanpur village, which falls under the jurisdiction of Ujiarpur police station of the district. The victim was identified as Vikram Giri, a resident of Madhopur, and at the time of the incident he was on his way to his poultry farm. Witnesses said that the attackers opened fire indiscriminately and fled the spot after brandishing their weapons. Ujiarpur Station House Officer (SHO) Ramanuj Ram said, "Vikram himself had a criminal history and was an accused in several cases. Prima facie, the attack appears to be a fallout of a gang rivalry or mutual enmity. However, all angles are being investigated seriously."...
