PATNA, Jan. 8 -- Saran police rescued an abducted schoolteacher from the clutches of abductors and arrested three persons involved in the incident, police said on Wednesday. The abducted teacher has been identified as 35-year-old Kundan Kumar, a resident of Piyano village under Kopa police station. He is posted at the Upgraded Middle School in Karhi, Baniapur. DIG Kumar Ashish, holding the charge of Saran SP, confirmed the recovery of the teacher within six hours of the reported incident. Police said the incident occurred when Yadav was on way to school from his home. As soon as he arrived near the school, the abductors arrived in an SUV, forcibly dragged the teacher into the vehicle, and fled with both the victim and his motorcycle within moments. The speed and coordination of the act left bystanders stunned, giving them no opportunity to intervene. On getting information, police arrived at the spot, inquired about the incident and alerted the nearby police stations and checking nakas to possible route. The fact that the criminals also took away the teacher's motorcycle led police to believe that the abduction was well-planned. Saran police formed SIT and raids were carried out in Siwan and Gopalganj districts. The location of the miscreants was traced through mobile surveillance, CCTV footage from nearby areas which trace the SUV's registration number and identify the kidnappers. On the basis of technical surveillance, police recovered Kundan Kumar safely from near Hanuman Mathia village of Darauli police station in Siwan.
