8 minor girls rescued, 3 orchestra operators held
PATNA, Nov. 13 -- In a joint operation by the Mission Mukti Foundation and Gopalganj police, eight minor girls were rescued and three orchestra operators arrested on Wednesday for allegedly engaging in immoral activities under the guise of classical dance.
Police said that they had been receiving information for some time about suspicious activities involving certain orchestra groups in the area. Acting on these inputs, raids were conducted at Mohanpur Bazaar, Payal Talkies, Sarfara Bazaar, and Sisai village under the Barauli police station from Tuesday night till Wednesday morning.
Eight minor girls from West Bengal and Tripura were rescued during the operation.
"Three orchestra operators were arrested during the police raids. They are being interrogated, and further action is being taken under the Child Protection Act," a police officer said....
