8 arrested in Begusarai after communal clash
PATNA, July 12 -- More than a dozen people were injured in a stone-pelting incident following a clash between members of two communities over a petty dispute in Bihar's Begusarai district, police said on Friday. Several vehicles were also damaged during the violence.
The incident took place in the Rajmahala Chowk area under Muffasil police station limits. According to police, the trouble began late Wednesday night when the night guard of an Urdu primary school objected to the entry of a group of alleged anti-social elements from a Hindu community, who forcibly entered the school premises and consumed contraband substances around 11 pm.
Tensions escalated on Thursday when members of the other community gathered near a tea stall, leading to a heated exchange and physical confrontation. The situation soon spiraled into a full-blown clash, with members of both communities engaging in violence, including stone-pelting.
Upon receiving information, a police team led by SDPO (Sadar-1) rushed to the spot to bring the situation under control. Eight people were arrested in connection with the violence. They were identified as Niraj Paswan alias Lallu, Kumod Paswan alias Raja, Ramu Paswan, Mohammad Sohrab, Mohammad Mukhtar, Mohammad Shamsher, Mohammad Irshad, and Mohammad Manjoor....
