AURANGABAD, April 24 -- Eight persons, two from Punjab, were arrested for allegedly forcibly entering the Aurangabad Circuit House with firearms and ammunition and misbehaving with the wife of Nabinagar JD(U) MLA Chetan Anand, police said on Thursday. Aurangabad SP Ambrish Rahul said that about 10-15 people, some of them armed, allegedly entered the circuit house in SUVs around 3am on Thursday. Their leader, later identified as Nitish Dwivedi, a resident of Siwan district, asked the caretaker to open the rooms. When the latter refused, they compelled the occupants to open their rooms using the threat of weapons, and allegedly engaged in unruly behaviour towards the dignitaries resting inside. MLA Chetan Anand's wife Dr Ayushi Tomar was among them. Tomar is daughter-in-law of politician Anand Mohan and JD(U) Sheohar MP Lovely Anand. Caretaker Tuntun Kumar tipped the Town police after which SHO inspector Baban Baitha and his team reached the spot. Eight were arrested while Dwivedi and others fled, police said. "One pistol, two magazines, a double barrel gun, 38 live cartridges, two SUVs, nine mobile phones, a camera and Rs.23,500 cash were seized from them," the SP said. The arrested accused told police that they had come with Dwivedi to participate in a marriage ceremony. Dwivedi lived in Mumbai and frequently visited several states and enjoyed free stay in government circuit houses, they said, adding Dwivedi was with Vikassheel Insaan Party and unsuccessfully fought last assembly elections from Maharajganj seat as an independent candidate. A case under relevant BNS sections, including 126(2) (wrongful restraint), 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 132 (criminal force against a public servant), 331(6) (house-trespass) and 351(1) (criminal intimidation), and the Arms Act was registered against 13 people, including Dwivedi. "The arrested accused have been sent to jail. Police are conducting raids to arrest the accused. The licenses of the firearms are also being verified," SP added....
