7 IPS officers shifted, Rana made new IG of Patna central range
PATNA, June 24 -- The state government on Monday effected a minor reshuffle of seven IPS officers, including central range IG of Patna. According to a notification issued by the home department, 2005 batch IPS officer Jitendra Rana, recently returned from Central deputation (IG, CISF) and waiting for posting is now Inspector General (IG), central range (Patna). He replaced Garima Mallik (2006 batch), who has been transferred and shifted to vigilance investigation bureau (VIB) in the same capacity.
It was during Jitendra Rana's stint as senior SP Patna, when the script for arrest of mafia don-turned-politician and JD(U) MLA from Mokama, Anant Singh, was made following the murder of Pawan alias Putush Yadav of Barh in June 2015. Pawan's body was found in Ladma village (Anant's native place) while three others, who had been abducted from Barh along with him on June 17, were recovered later.
Anant Singh's name was disclosed by Rana, hours before his transfer, in the kidnapping of four persons, one of whom was later murdered.
Rana was shifted to East Champaran and in 2018 he was relieved for Central deputation.
2002 batch IPS officer Rakesh Rathi, currently IG, technical services and wireless, also holding the additional charge of IG (special branch) has been relieved from the post of IG (technical services and wireless).
S Premlatha, IG (VIB), is replacing Rathi as IG, technical Service and wireless. SP(C) Manoj Kumar Tiwari has been shifted to Siwan in the same capacity while Siwan SP Amitesh Kumar has been made SP(security) in a special branch. 2019 batch IPS officer K Ramdas, currently posted as SP-cum-assistant director, Bihar Police Academy has been transferred and posted as SP(C) in place of Manoj Tiwari....
