BETTIAH, Sept. 17 -- A six-year-old nursery grade student, allegedly abducted for ransom in connivance with his teacher from a Lauriya-based private school in West Champaran, was recovered from Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh), officials said Tuesday. Sadar's (Bettiah) sub divisional police officer Vivek Deep said a police team, which swung into action following a complaint from one Anoop Shrivastava about abduction of his son on Monday, recovered the boy from Gorakhpur barely six hours after the incident. "During investigation, it came to the fore that the boy was abducted by one of his father's acquaintances with the help of his schoolteacher," the SDPO said, adding abductor Rahul Sharma had been arrested. The child's disappearance came to fore when he was nowhere to be found after his maternal uncle reached school to pick him up at 11.45am on Monday. The student was found to be missing from school during the lunch break. Locals and school children told police that a man in a yellow T-shirt took the child away. Meanwhile, police was told about an anonymous call by a schoolteacher in which the person requested him to let him pick up the student at the instance of his father. "Both manual and technical investigation made it clear that the child had been kidnapped, after which mobile location was tracked. Tracking revealed that the accused had boarded the Awadh-Assam Express from Ramnagar station and went towards Gorakhpur," said the official....
