6 held with narcotics, Rs.12L cash recovered
PATNA, Dec. 26 -- Patna police on Thursday arrested six persons and recovered a large quantity of narcotics, a country-made pistol, three live cartridges, a pistol magazine, foreign liquor, cash, one ATM card, silver and gold ornaments and motorcycle, car and Rs.12 lakh in cash.
Police said, acting on a tip off that one Piyush Kumar and his brother Shubham Kumar, residents of Rusulpur locality, under Maner police station, with the help of their family, were involved in selling smack and charas from their tea shop for a long time near the government hospital at Rasulpur, a police team was formed to arrest them.
He said the police caught Piyush and Shubham when they were going to deal in huge quantities with the smack dealers of Maner and nearby areas. "During the raid, a large quantity of charas, smack, a country-made pistol, 3 live cartridges, a pistol magazine, foreign liquor, cash, one ATM card and silver and gold ornaments and a car, one motorcycle and Rs.12 lakh in cash, were recovered and Piyush and Shubham were arrested. "On the basis of statements of the arrested persons, the four other accused involved in the purchasing and selling of narcotics were also arrested," said a police officer.
Patna SSP, K Sharma said an FIR was lodged with Maner police and all the persons were being forwarded to jail for further legal action....
