5 suffer bullet injuries in three firing incidents
PATNA, Aug. 12 -- Five persons, including a teacher, were shot and injured after unidentified assailants opened fire at them in three incidents late on Sunday night in Patna district, police said.
The first incident occurred when two cousins were shot by assailants at Kath ka Pul under Mehendiganj police station on suspicion of them being police informants. The injured were identified as Sonu and Neeraj, who have been admitted to NMCH for treatment.
Locals said police arrested Guddu Yadav for his involvement in selling narcotics on Sunday noon. The family members of the youth suspected Sonu's younger brother had informed the police, they said.
SHO, Mehendiganj police station, Kishore Kunal Jha said the cause of the incident was a personal dispute between the neighbours.
"Raids are on to arrest the accused," he said.
In the second incident assailants opened fire on the car of Pankaj Kumar, a teacher, in Beldarichak under Daniyawa police station. Police said, the incident took place when the accused tried to stop his car but he did not stop. He received bullet injuries in his right hand.
In the third incident Chotu Nut was injured after being fired upon over a land dispute at Dostmahmadpur under Dhanarua police station. Later, an unidentified man was shot and injured at Patna-Gaya main Road under Dhanarua police station, police said....
