5 cops injured as truck hits patrolling vehicle
PATNA, June 23 -- Five policemen including an additional SHO were injured after a speeding truck hit a night police patrolling vehicle at Gaighat under Alamganj police station on Sunday morning. One of the policemen is said to be in critical condition.
Police said the incident took place when the policemen were on duty at Gaighat more.
"A speeding truck hit night patrolling vehicle when they were on duty. Five policemen were injured in the accident. They were taken to PMCH for treatment. All the policemen were released after first aid but one is said to be seriously injured," police said.
SHO of Alamganj police station, Rahul Thakur said the five policemen of Alamganj police patrolling were injured after a truck hit their vehicle. The police seized the truck and further process is going on, he added.
An FIR was lodged with Beur police station against a schoolteacher for threatening to rape a Class 8 student of a private school. The police have started an investigation into the incident.
City SP (West) Bhanu Pratap Singh said the FIR was lodged after the girl alleged that a teacher threatened to rape her and eliminater her family. The police were investigating the matter, he added
Family told the police that the teacher used to tease their daughter. She was depressed after the incident and was admitted to Phulwarisharf hospital from where she was referred to a private hospital for treatment.
As the incident came to light, a large number of locals assembled in front of the school and demanded the arrest of the teacher. The school administration reportedly fled after locking the school....
