4 units to check illegal activities on Indo-Nepal border in bihar
PATNA, April 28 -- To monitor illegal activities on the Indo-Nepal boarder, Bihar police has formed four new units comprising SSB personnel, special branch and local police, an official said Monday.
Under the leadership of the Special DIG, the four units are taking concrete action in the border areas by keeping a special watch on illegal activities of fake Indian currency notes, narcotics smuggling, human trafficking etc. inside the state and across the border. DIG (STF) Neeraj Kumar Singh and DIG Sanjay Kumar said that these units comprise specially trained officers and personnel of STF, Special Branch as well as SSB.
DIG Neeraj Kumar Singh said that the jurisdiction of the four units is spread over 13 subdivisions and 69 police stations falling in seven districts of Bihar including Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, West Champaran and East Champaran. The seven districts shared the Nepal border which falling 14 districts are also being monitored. He said several hot spots related to illegal activities have been identified along the border. The drone cell of STF is carrying out aerial surveillance, mapping and operations in the border areas to keep an eye on the hideouts and activities....
