BETTIAH, Sept. 20 -- At least four security personnel were injured, three of them from Uttar Pradesh, after a joint team of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar police was allegedly attacked by cattle smugglers and a policeman's service revolver was snatched in Bihar's West Champaran district on Thursday late evening, police said. Bagaha SP Sushant Saroj said the incident occurred when a police team from Uttar Pradesh's Kaptanganj reached Dahawa village under Dhanaha police station of Bagaha police district in search of a cattle smuggler called Rustam Ansari in coordination with local police around 8:30pm on Thursday. "Just when the team reached the village to execute a warrant, Rustam and his three brothers went after the police team with lathis and as a result the policemen were injured," the SP said.
