35-year-old injured in leopard attack at VTR
BETTIAH, Aug. 28 -- A 35-year-old farmer was allegedly injured in an attack by a leopard at a place in Valmiki Tiger Reserve (VTR) in West Champaran district on Wednesday morning, officials said.
Dr Nesamani K, conservator and field director of the VTR, confirmed the incident and said that the farmer, identified as Prakash Bin, a resident of Rampur near Valmikinagar railway station, was attacked while he was sleeping outside his house early Wednesday morning.
"Pugmark is not clear but it is believed to be of a leopard. The eyewitnesses say the man was injured by a leopard," said the conservator and field director.
On receiving information about the incident, a forest department team reached the spot and began tracking the animal's location.
Dr Vinay Kumar, a doctor at the Sub-divisional Hospital in Bagaha, said that Prakash Bin was admitted to the hospital with injuries....
