21-year-old man thrown out of train; critical
PATNA, Dec. 5 -- A 21-year-old passenger was thrown out of a running train by a gang of criminals near Vikramshila station between Bhagalpur-Sahebganj rail section under Malda division of Eastern Railway, police said on Thursday.
The victim has been identified as Mohan Yadav of Tintanga Karari village in Naugachhia police district. He has been admitted to Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital (Bhagalpur) in a critical condition.
Police said the incident occurred around 10 pm (Wednesday) when Mohan was returning home from Mirza Chowki after collecting Rs.17,000 from a contractor Binod Yadav. Mohan was thrown out of the train by the robbers when he protested against their attempt to rob his cash and cell phone.
"When I tried to resist, three robbers threw me out of the running train, causing serious injuries to both my legs and head. I became unconscious after the incident. When I regained consciousness, I found myself in the hospital," he said.
"Around 2am, a lineman informed the RPF control room. Police immediately rushed him to Kahalgaon hospital where doctors referred him to JLMNCH. Police recorded his statement and launched a manhunt against the suspects," said RPF inspector Bechan Mishra of Kahalgaon RPF post....
