21 minors rescued, Three held at Patna junction
PATNA, May 22 -- A joint team of the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) rescued 21 minor boys who were being trafficked to Tamil Nadu and arrested three traffickers from Platform No. 1 at Patna Junction. The children were found aboard the Patna-Ernakulam Express (22670) on Sunday, officials said.
Patna Junction GRP Station House Officer (SHO) Rajesh Kumar Sinha said the minors were rescued during a special checking drive. "We traced these children in the general coach of the train after a thorough search operation. All of them were travelling under suspicious circumstances, without proper guardians accompanying them," he said.
The SHO further said that the arrested traffickers have been identified as Jitendra Kumar of Nalanda, and Kanchan Kumar and Sanjit Kumar of Jehanabad. A thorough probe has been launched into the matter....
