BHABUA, June 6 -- The special Adult and Children court of first additional district and sessions judge Baljinder Pal at Bhabua on Thursday sentenced the main accused of the sensational Mohania gangrape case to rigorous imprisonment (RI) for 25 years. The 2019 gangrape case had created a major law and order situation at Mohania. Angry people had come down on roads and in streets and police had to resort to lathi-charge and firing at several places injuring several persons, before the situation came in control after four days. The special court found the accused Arbaz Alam alias Pallu of Mohania, guilty for forcibly kidnapping the 15-year-old minor girl in his car and committing gangrape on a dagger point with his three friends on the banks of Durgawati river on November 15, 2019, victim's advocate Mantu Pandey said. The Mohania girl was going to purchase a notebook when the accused kidnapped her. The girl kept mum after the incident as the accused who had filmed video of the gangrape, had threatened to eliminate her entire family if she informed anyone. The accused made viral three video clips of the incident on social media on November 24 leading to road blockades and large-scale destruction by the angry people....
