2009 bihar batch IPs completes 'ironman challenge
PATNA, Dec. 18 -- Bihar cadre IPS officer Naveen Chandra Jha of the 2009 batch has achieved a feat by successfully completing the 113-km-long 'Ironman Challenge'.
The 113-km 'Ironman Challenge' refers to the IRONMAN 70.3 triathlon, a half-distance event covering a total of 113 kilometres (70.3 miles), comprising swimming, cycling and running.
Popularly known as the 'Ironman of Bihar', Jha displayed exceptional stamina, willpower, courage and discipline, becoming the first person from Bihar to complete the challenge and bring laurels to the state on the international stage. Battling scorching heat, salty sea winds and challenging waves of the Arabian Sea in Goa, he completed the gruelling race without stopping.
The triathlon included a 1.9-km sea swim, followed by 90-km cycling through challenging hilly terrain, and concluded with a 21.1-km half marathon, demanding extraordinary mental and physical resilience.
Jha has served in several key positions in Bihar, including as Superintendent of Police in Siwan and Motihari, and as Deputy Inspector General in Rohtas. He is currently posted with the Vigilance Investigation Bureau.
"This challenge requires regular practice, self-discipline and strong mental strength. This achievement belongs to Bihar, Bihar Police and today's youth. I dedicate it to all of them. If the objective is clear and efforts are honest, nothing is impossible," Jha said....
