20 students hurt in road accident in Bihar's Buxar
BUXAR, July 11 -- A school bus carrying 20 students overturned near Sarenja village in Buxar district on Thursday, resulting in injuries to all the students, police said.
Following the accident, several injured students were rushed to a community health centre in Chausa. Some were taken to private clinics, while others were referred to Buxar Sadar Hospital for further treatment.
The private school bus, based in Buxar, was returning to school after picking up students from various villages in Chausa block when the driver lost control and the vehicle overturned into a large roadside ditch near the village. Rajpur police station SHO Gyan Prakash Singh said the police team reached the spot promptly. "The bus merely slipped into the ditch, so a major tragedy was averted. Several injured students were treated locally, while two to three were referred to Buxar Sadar Hospital due to suspected fractures in their legs and hands. All 20 students sustained injuries," he said. Earlier, on July 7, a similar incident was reported from Bhojpur district, where a private school bus overturned....
