2 minor girls raped in Patna, accused held
PATNA, April 30 -- Two minor girls -- one merely five-years-old -- were allegedly raped within 24 hours in Patna, police said on Wednesday, adding that two accused in these cases have been arrested and both are also minors.
The first case was reported from a village under Paliganj police station area where a five-year-old primary school student was allegedly raped by a boy from her village. Her family members claimed that she was raped when she was returning from the school. "She was lured by the boy and then raped at a secluded place," said a villager, a version corroborated by police.
The girl narrated the incident to her family who reported it to the police. "Police sent the girl for medical examination at the government hospital where sexual assault was confirmed," said Paliganj SHO Suman Kumar.
Kumar added that police arrested the accused boy from the village and has been interrogating him. He has been charged under the POCSO Act.
In the second case within state capital region, Rajeev Nagar police on Wednesday arrested a boy on charge of raping a girl in Ghurduar area under Rajeev Nagar police station on Tuesday. The police said that a special team was formed to arrest the boy soon after the incident.
