Dhanbad, July 17 -- A top CoBRA commando and two suspected Maoists, including a wanted rebel with a Rs.5 lakh bounty, were killed in a fierce early morning encounter in Bokaro district on Wednesday, officials said. The 209 CoBRA Battalion of CRPF and Bokaro district police launched the joint operation following intelligence inputs about the movement of a Maoist squad in the region, reportedly led by senior commanders planning a strike. "The Maoist team included Sahdev Soren alias Anuj alias Pravesh Soren, a central committee member (CCM), and Birsen alias Chanchal alias Raghunath Tembrem alias Kana, a special area committee (SAC) member," said Bokaro SP Harvinder Singh during a press conference. CoBRA jawan Praneshwar Koch of Assam sustained critical bullet injuries and later succumbed. "He was airlifted to Ranchi, but could not be saved," Bokaro SP Harvinder Singh said....
