PATNA, April 8 -- Two people were killed and three others injured in separate incidents linked to land disputes under the Mokama and Athmalgola police station limits in Patna district on Tuesday, officials said. In the first incident, which took place in Ward No. 22 of the Sahbepur area under Mokama police station, a man allegedly killed his brother following a dispute over land. The deceased was identified as Rajiv Kumar (32). Three others were also injured in the incident, a police officer said. Rural Superintendent of Police Kunadan Kumar confirmed the incident, adding that three persons have been arrested in connection with the case. In the second incident, at Neura village under Athmalgola police station, a woman identified as Meena Devi was shot dead by a close relative over a long-standing land dispute. The incident occurred when she stepped out of her house in the morning. Two accused, who were allegedly lying in wait, opened fire and killed her on the spot.
