2 hurt in cattle smugglers' attack
AURANGABAD, Nov. 24 -- Cattle smugglers attacked and critically injured two cow vigilantes, including a Patna High Court lawyer, in Aurangabad late on Saturday evening, police said.
The incident occurred near Dev Turning under the jurisdiction of Mufassil police station. The injured have been identified as advocate Shashank Shekhar and businessman Pramod Singh of Narsingh village, police added.
Both were rushed to Sadar Hospital in Aurangabad in critical condition.
Police said advocate Shashank Shekhar was on his way to his native village when he noticed a speeding pickup van. Suspecting foul play, he stopped the vehicle with the help of villagers. Upon inspection, around 15 calves were found crammed inside the van. The group immediately alerted police on Dial 112.
Meanwhile, police have launched a probe into it....
