2 electrocuted to death in Bhojpur
ARA, May 30 -- A tragic incident occurred in Bhojpur district on Thursday when a 20-year-old youth and his 16-year-old cousin sister were electrocuted, police said. The youth lost his life while attempting to save the girl. Two others were also injured during the rescue attempt.
The victims have been identified as Pappu Kumar and his cousin Kavita Kumari, both residents of Khakhobandh village under the jurisdiction of Bihiya police station.
According to police, the incident took place on Thursday morning when Kavita went to relieve herself and accidentally came in contact with a live wire connected to a boring set. She began writhing in pain. Pappu, who was on his way to his field, saw her and rushed to help, but was also electrocuted in the process. Two co-villagers - Deepak Kumar (25) and Santosh Kumar (20) - who attempted to rescue the cousins, also sustained injuries. Santosh was rushed to the Primary Health Centre at Bihiya for treatment. Villagers later switched off the power supply to the boring set. Both Pappu and Kavita were immediately taken to Ara Sadar Hospital, where doctors declared them brought dead.
In another incident on Thursday, a 65-year-old farmer was shot dead in Tikapur village under the jurisdiction of Bahoranpur police station.
The victim, identified as Shivpujan Rai, was allegedly shot by a man named Vishal, who later made a video confession of the crime....
