2 electrocuted after contact with live wire in East Champaran
BETTIAH, Aug. 17 -- At least 50 passengers had a miraculous escape while two suffered electric shocks after a bus in which they were travelling came in contact with live wire at a village in Bihar's East Champaran district on Saturday, police said.
The incident occurred when the bus carrying over 50 passengers reached Kodariya village while it was on way to Sheohar from Dhakha in East Champaran on Saturday afternoon. "An overhead activated high tension wire which was hanging loose from the pole got entwined with the rooftop of the bus and as a result, two passengers received electric shocks," said Baban Kumar, Station House Officer (SHO), Patahi police station.
Hearing the distress call, the locals rushed to the spot with bamboo poles and untwined the wire entangled with the bus, sources quoted the eye-witnesses as saying.
Two injured passengers, identified as Kamali Kumari and Chandani Kumari, had to be admitted to the community health centre (CHC) at Patahi....
