2 bizmen killed in separate incidents in Bihar
DARBHANGA, Sept. 26 -- Two shopkeepers were shot dead by unidentified assailants in Darbhanga and Samastipur districts on Wednesday, police said.
In Darbhanga, a 32-year-old jewellery shop owner, Rahul Kumar, was shot dead near Hajipur under APM police station limits, about 1.5 km from his shop. Rahul, son of Bablu Sah and a resident of Bakar Ganj locality under Laheriasarai police station, was returning home when the assailants opened fire.
Locals rushed him to a private hospital in critical condition, but he succumbed during treatment. Police recovered four empty cartridges from the spot, which was also inspected by a forensic team. APM Station House Officer (SHO) Sanjit Kumar said, "We are investigating the matter with seriousness. The culprits will be arrested soon."
Rahul had been running his jewellery shop at Barhmotra Chowk in a rented building for the past 10 years. He is survived by his wife and two children.
In Samastipur, unidentified men shot dead 30-year-old shopkeeper Surendra Kumar while he was closing the shutter of his general store and online centre at Sihi village under Hasanpur police station. Surendra, son of late Andu Mahto of ward number 3, was shot from behind in the back and neck, killing him on the spot. The attackers fled immediately after the crime.
Hasanpur police and forensic experts examined the scene and collected evidence. The Samastipur SP's office said in a statement on Thursday that the Rosera SDPO is supervising the probe....
