PATNA, June 1 -- Bihar police arrested twelve persons, including five cops from Saran and Begusarai district, on the charges of organising liquor party inside a town police outpost (TOP) and having nexus with liquor mafias, police said on Saturday. Bihar is a dry state and a strict ban is in place. Arrested people were sent to judicial custody while a departmental inquiry initiate against them. According to reports from Saran, a police team raided inside the TOP located at Gandak Colony, near range DIG residence apprehended five individuals, including in-charge-cum-sub-inspector Shyam Bihari Pandey, home guard jawan Virat Raaj Anand, civilians Ashish Kumar Mishra, Pawan Kumar Nandan and Anil Kumar Rai, allegedly participating in a liquor party. Police recovered two bottles IMFL, six glass filled with liquor from the spot. The incident from inside a police TOP came to light when a related video reached top officials via WhatsApp, reportedly showing the liquor party. Saran SP Kumar Ashish said that acting on a tip-off a police team led by additional SP (sadar) Raj Kishore Singh raided the place late on Friday and caught them red handed. "We received information about it. We went to verify it and found them drinking alcohol. How they got alcohol and other things is part of the probe. The arrested SI put under suspension while contract of home guard jawan terminated," said the SP, adding that breath analyser test confirmed their consumption of liquor. The seized IMFL bottles and glasses sent to FSL for forensic test. An FIR registered against with Bhagwan Bazar police station in this connection. In Begusarai, three jawans of Tiger Mobile arrested from Bakhri police station for their alleged nexus with liquor mafias. Police also arrested four liquor mafias and recovered 25 litres liquor, eight cell phones and Rs.17,000 cash from their possession. Begusarai SP Maneesh confirmed their arrest and told HT that, "We got an information that a liquor consignment would deliver near Salauna railway station in which Bakhri police rushed and found that three jawans were roaming there without prior information/permission to the seniors. Due to suspicious role, all the three were detained and interrogated thoroughly"....
