DARBHANGA, July 29 -- In a significant verdict, the special POCSO court here on Monday sentenced Ram Pukar Mishra of Housing Board Colony under Bahadurpur police station, to 10 years rigorous imprisonment (RI) along with a fine of Rs.20,000 in connection with the abduction and sexual exploitation of a minor girl. Special public prosecutor Vijay Kumar said the sentence was awarded by special judge (POCSO court) Protima Parihar in connection with a case taken for trial under GR case number 31/15. The accused had lured the girl and abducted her with ill intent. During the course of investigation, the victim was recovered along with the accused from Kolkata. The incident had led to the registration of case (181/15) at Bahadurpur police station on June 12, 2015. On November 23, 2015, the court took cognizance of the case under IPC sections 366(A), 370, 376 and Section 4 of the POCSO Act.
