10 killed due to lightning strike in 4 Bihar distts
BANKA, July 15 -- At least 10 people were killed and ten injured in four districts in Bihar in 12 hours in lightning strikes. Five deaths were reported from Banka and three from Gaya Ji.
However, the state disaster management department was yet to confirm the deaths.
In Banka five persons were reportedly killed and several others injured Sunday evening when lightning struck them. Those who lost their lives have been identified as Karina Kumari 12, of Gohkara near Banka district town area. Farmer Vijay Yadav, 52, injured due to lightning, died in the hospital. He was a resident of Chaiti village under Belhar police station. Four persons were also injured in the village.
Vishekha Devi, 35, of Murlivaran village under Pullidummar police station Dhoraiya was going to transplant paddy when lightning struck her and she died immediately.
Farmer Anil Yadav,50, of Baja village under Amarpur block died when struck by lightning during transplantation of paddy in his field. Gautam Kumar, 23, of Ghuiyara village under Pullidummar police station was killed when lightning struck him in the paddy field; two others were injured who are undergoing treatment at Pullidummar community health centre....
