BETTIAH, Oct. 7 -- A 10-feet stretch on national highway 28A caved in and sank deep in the earth at a place in Bihar's East Champaran district on Sunday night. According to officials, the collapse occurred on NH-28A, a main artery connecting New Delhi and Kathmandu, at Lalparsa village under Sagauli police station of the district. "Highway authorities have been asked to look into it," said Saurabh Jorwal, district magistrate (DM), East Champaran. In the videos emerging from the spot, the collapsed part is seen barricaded even as the movement of vehicles is unaffected. "It's looking dangerous and threat to the safety of vehicles as it can't be easily perceived at night," said Babur Ali, a local resident.
