1 more NEET aspirant death in Patna, kin alleges murder
PATNA, Jan. 20 -- While the police are still struggling to resolve the mystery behind the death of a NEET aspirant in Patna, another NEET aspirant girl's death has come to light to raise the larger questions about girl students' safety in the state capital.
The second case involves a NEET aspirant, 15, from Aurangabad, who died on January 6 at the Perfect Girls Hostel on Exhibition Road under Gandhi Maidan police station in Patna, on the same day when another NEET girl was allegedly "sexually assaulted and poisoned". She died on January 11 at the Medanta hospital.
In this case, the deceased's father Dharmendra Kumar has filed an FIR at the Gandhi Maidan police station naming two boys, the hostel operator, the hostel warden, and the student's friends as accused.
The accused are Mushahid Raza, son of Shamsuz Zoha, resident of Chocha village in Wai police station area of Purnia district; Mukarram Raza, son of Mohammed Ghulam Yazdani, a resident of Daytan under Dalkola police station of North Dinajpur district of West Bengal; and hostel operator Vishal Agarwal, Ranjit Mishra, warden Khushboo Kumari and some other unidentified people.
The station House Officer (SHO) of the Gandhi Maidan police station said that the police investigation found it to be "a case of suicide" and that the postmortem as well as FSL evidence proved it to be a case of suicide.
He however said that the circumstances that forced the girl to take the extreme step were not clear.
The girl's family however insists on "foul play". Her father said, "I received information that two boys entered the hostel with another person and killed my daughter on January 6. The police detained two accused but they released one. The police have not taken any serious action."...
