PATNA, Sept. 12 -- Union commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal on Thursday assured that Indians stranded in Nepal need not worry, as the Centre was closely monitoring the situation and had made all necessary arrangements for their safety. Addressing a press meet at the BJP state headquarters here, Goyal said the government had issued a dedicated helpline and was in constant touch with the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu. "Yesterday I also spoke to the Indian ambassador there. They are taking care of our people. A helpline has been started, and anyone with concerns can reach out. Our mission will provide full assistance in bringing back all Indians," he said. He said, "You all have seen our track record. We have brought our people back even from the midst of big wars." He expressed hope that peace would soon return to Nepal. On Indo-US trade ties, Goyal said the first tranche of the trade agreement between the countries would be ready by November. "Since March, discussions have been progressing in a very positive environment. Both sides are satisfied with the progress," he said, recalling the joint directive of PM Modi and US President Trump earlier this year. The minister also took aim at Tejashwi Yadav and Rahul Gandhi, accusing them of remaining silent over abusive remarks made against PM Modi's mother. He mocked Congress's hesitation in backing Tejashwi as chief ministerial candidate, saying, "Even if his name is announced, nothing will change. Nobody can stand against Nitish Kumar. NDA will once again form the government in Bihar."...
