'Jinnah mindset': Jaiswal slams slogans at JNU against PM, Shah
BETTIAH, Jan. 7 -- A day after sloganeering against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah on the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) campus, former BJP state president and Paschim Champaran MP Sanjay Jaiswal on Tuesday said that the university had long been a hub of conspiracies by certain people and asserted that the dreams of those with a "Jinnah's mindset" would never come true.
Slogans were reportedly raised against PM and Shah in an event after the Supreme Court's denial of bail to Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam -- both former students of JNU and currently in jail under charges of playing roles in the 2020 Delhi riots.
Speaking to the journalists, Jaiswal, a four-time MP, said that some people were unwilling to learn from the case of Imam, who was pursuing his PhD at JNU when he landed in jail because of his "activism" and "inflammatory statements".
"This is a very unfortunate incident (sloganeering)... Lessons have not been taken by certain people. Dreams of those with Jinnah's mindset would not come true, he said....
