PATNA, Sept. 6 -- As the demand for entry of chief minister Nitish Kumar's son into politics keeps on rising from within the JD(U) at regular interval, national president of Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) and Rajya Sabha member Upendra Kushwaha, in an oblique reference to JD(U), expressed apprehension that delay in transferring the responsibility can cause irreparable loss to the party, asserting that perhaps such a loss which can never be compensated. He was speaking at a Constitutional Rights- Delimitation Reform Maha Rally organised at Miller School Ground, near JD(U) office in Patna. "I repeatedly keep telling. People sitting in the office (referring to the JD-U office near the rally venue) might be hearing this. The successor should be from the same heritage who wants to take the party forward. If this is not decided within stipulated time, then the way Soshit Samaj Dal vanished, the damage would be of same type," said Kushwaha, apprehending that delay in transferring the responsibility can cause irreparable loss to the party asserting that perhaps such a loss which can never be compensated Though he did not take any names, party leaders said that he was referring to transfer of power to Nishant Kumar, chief minister's son. His statement comes two days after JD(U) working president Sanjay Jha had made it clear that Nishant has no plans to enter politics at the moment. His statement had put an end to all the speculations that were hot in the political corridors of Bihar for the last few days. The demand for Nishant's entry gained ground when some JD(U) leaders offered him to contest elections from their respective areas. Not only this, posters were also put up at many places in Patna, in which Nishant was described as the future of Bihar. Kushwaha earlier in July had expressed similar apprehensions on the future of the JD(U). On the occasion of Nishant's birthday, Kushwaha took to X and wrote, "On this occasion, a very humble request to respected Nitish Kumar ji is that understanding the delicacy of time and situation, please accept the truth that now running both the government and the party (together) is not appropriate even for him. He has a long experience of running the government, the benefit of which should continue to be available to the state, this is very important at the moment in the interest of the state. But he should take a concrete decision in time on the issue of transfer of responsibility of the party." The very next day, however, Kushwaha had clarified that what he had said was the sentiment of thousands of JD(U) workers. "Because of my past, I remain in touch with the party workers. They, too, are comfortable in sharing their sentiments with me. I had merely voiced their sentiments." claimed Kushwaha and went on to say that he considers Nitish Kumar as an "incomparable leader, among the top five political figures in the country". The Rajya Sabha MP Kushwaha blamed the previous Congress regimes for ignoring the delimitation issue. "If delimitation had been done on time, Bihar would have had 60 seats in the Lok Sabha. According to the Constitution, census and delimitation should be done every 10 years, but this has not happened in Bihar for the last 50 years," he said in his speech....
