'Govt to create development road map for next 25 years'
Dehradun, Nov. 2 -- Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said a road map will be created for the development of the state over the next 25 years as celebrations for the state's silver jubilee began on Saturday.
Addressing a press conference at the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP's) state office on Balbir Road in Dehradun, he said that Silver Jubilee celebrations are being organised across the state to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the formation of the hill state. "Various programs will be organised across the state till November 11," he said.
Dhami also paid tributes to former Prime Minister late Atal Bihari Vajpayee and said that it was during his tenure as PM that the state of Uttarakhand was formed.
He said that it is a matter of pride for all of us that Uttarakhand is completing a remarkable journey of 25 years and has established new dimensions of development. The CM said that PM Narendra Modi has placed before the countrymen the resolve of a developed and self-reliant India by 2047.
"The year 2050 will be the Golden Jubilee year of the formation of Uttarakhand state. The state government will move forward by creating a roadmap for the coming 25 years to build a prosperous, self-reliant, and empowered Uttarakhand," he said.
Dhami said that as part of the state's silver jubilee celebrations, a special session of the state assembly is being organised in Dehradun on November 3 and 4, and President Draupadi Murmu will address the special session on November 3.
