'Govinda, sunita not headed for divorce'
India, Aug. 24 -- Govinda's marriage and speculated split from wife Sunita Ahuja hit headlines again on Friday.
As per a recent Hauterfly report states, Sunita had indeed filed for divorce from the actor in December last year. The petition was reportedly filed under Section 13 (1) (i), (ia), and (ib), citing cruelty, adultery and desertion.
Interestingly, the Bandra Family Court reportedly issued summons to Govinda in May; Sunita is said to have been regularly attending proceedings, despite her husband's alleged absence. The report also suggested that the duo has been undergoing court-mandated couple's counselling since June.
However, those close to the couple, including their daughter, actor Tina Ahuja have trashed the rumours of a split after 38 years of marriage. When we reached out to her, Tina said, "Kya bolun main? [My father] is not even in the country." Govinda had posed for the paps at the Mumbai airport's departures terminal on Friday - his first public sighting in over a month.
Amid this, an emotional clip from Sunita's recent YouTube vlog has been doing the rounds and further stoking speculation. The video shows her speaking about her marriage during a visit to a Mahakali temple.
"When I met Govinda, I prayed that I get married to him and that my life goes well," a visibly emotional Sunita said in the video, adding, "Koi bhi mera ghar todne ki koshish karein... Maa Kali sabke gale kaat ke rakh degi. Mujhe aur kisi pe vishwas nahin hai."
Even so, when we reached out to Govinda's manager Shashi, he insisted that all was well in the marriage. He told us, "Abhi Ganesh Chaturthi aayega, aap ko sab saath mein nazar aayenge, aap ghar aaiyega. Haar couple mein thode bahut mann mutav toh hote hi rehte hain. Koi divorce nahin hone waala hai. They are focusing on their kids' (Tina and Yashvardan Ahuja) careers and marriages instead of this negativity."
When probed about the actor's reported absence from court proceedings, he stated, "Haan, Govinda court mein present nahin hue, par Sunita bhi court nahin gaye hai, siwaye ek barr jab woh case file karne ke liye gaye thi."
Meanwhile, their lawyer and friend, Lalit Bindra recently told NDTV that there was no case, reiterating that the rumours were a result of old instances being dug up.
Sunita and Govinda remained unavailable for comment till the time of going to press.
