JAMUI, Aug. 10 -- A clerical error in the recently published electoral rolls has caused confusion among 230 voters in a village in Bihar's Jamui district. The mistake resulted in all of them being listed as members of the same household. According to block-level officers (BLOs), the issue arose due to a technical glitch, and higher authorities have been informed. The incident came to light in Ameen village under Sadar police station, about 12 km from the district headquarters, when residents discovered the anomaly. "We found that all 230 voters of Ward-3 were shown as members of one house," said 70-year-old Noor Hasan. "There are only six members in my family." Md Danish alleged that the BLOs had skipped door-to-door verification and instead filled forms from a single location for their own convenience. "How can one family accommodate 230 voters?" he asked, adding that even deceased persons' names had appeared on the list, raising serious doubts about the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. However, BLOs Rajiv Kumar and Gautam Kumar denied negligence, adding it was a technical glitch, and that it has been forwarded to senior authorities....
