'abuse' hurled at PM from cong podium, local leader booked
DARBHANGA, Aug. 29 -- Abusive language used against Prime Minister Narendra Modi from purportedly a stage erected as part of ongoing Rahul Gandhi-led Voter Adhikar Yatra in Bithauli village of Simri block in Darbhanga district on Thursday stirred a political storm in poll-bound Bihar.
A 33-second video of the episode was widely circulated on social media. HT could not independently verify the authenticity of the video. It shows a crowded stage with someone hurling abuses targeted at PM Modi, while others jostled to snatch mic from him.
Rahul Gandhi, or any other prominent leader from the Opposition, is not visible in the video. One local leader, Mohammed Naushad, is said to be the organiser of the event and he later accepted the use of abusive language and also apologised for it.
