Woman killed, husband injured in road crash in Greater Noida
Noida, July 14 -- A woman was crushed to death and her husband sustained injuries while allegedly overtaking a trolley truck on a scooter in Gaur City 2 on Sunday, said police.
The deceased was identified as Sarita Chaudhary, 54, a resident of Raksha Addela Society in Greater Noida West. Her husband, Rajnarayan Chaudhary, 55, is hospitalised but out of danger, said police. Around 11am, as the couple was returning home from Haibatpur side, Rajnarayan was driving parallel to a trolley truck but lost control over the scooter near Mahagun Mywoods Mart, police said.
"Rajnarayan fell on the other side of the road while Sarita, who fell towards the truck side, was crushed under its rear wheels. The truck driver fled the spot," said an officer. "We've seized the truck. A case will be lodged after family's complaint. Efforts are on to nab the driver," said Bisrakh SHO Manoj Kumar Singh. Separately, two teenagers escaped with injuries after a car hit their bike near Adobe Junction, on Sunday, said police, adding the driver has been arrested....
