Meerut, Nov. 26 -- Police on Tuesday registered a case against a banquet hall owner and a bride's parents for violating the Covid protocol.
This is the first case of such action in Uttar Pradesh, said UP police spokesman AN Tripathi.
Superintendent of police (City) AN Singh said most of the people in the marriage party burst firecrackers, which is banned in the district by the National Green Tribunal. Besides, most of them were not wearing masks, he said, adding that they did not maintain social distancing during the function.
