Raj man arrested over Pak-linked espionage
New Delhi, June 1 -- The Delhi Police's special cell on Saturday arrested a 42-year-old man from Deeg in Rajasthan in connection with an alleged espionage network operated in India by Pakistan Intelligence Operatives (PIOs).
The accused, Mohammad Hasin, is the brother of Mohammad Kasim, 34, a cleric arrested earlier this week on charges of spying and sending pre-activated Indian SIM cards to Pakistan. Police said Hasin had been absconding since Kasim's arrest in the Official Secrets Act (OSA) case.
According to police, Hasin helped Kasim, along with their sister and brother-in-law, secure Pakistani visas in August 2024 through ISI assistance. "In August 2024, Hasin sent some Indian SIM cards to Pakistan through Kasim. One of the SIMs, in his name, was used by PIOs. Hasin revealed he also sent photos of sensitive Indian Army sites and OTPs to activate WhatsApp in Pakistan," the special cell said....
