Police track, return 100 lost phones
NOIDA, July 13 -- The Central Noida police under the Gautam Budh Nagar commissionerate recovered and returned 100 lost smartphones in a proactive initiative, officials said on Saturday.
The phones were traced over the past few months using electronic surveillance by the Surveillance Cell, in coordination with Phase 2 police station.
"These phones had been reported as missing at various police stations under the central Noida zone, and the Surveillance Cell worked meticulously to trace them back to the users," said deputy commissioner of police (Central Noida) Shakti Mohan Awasthi. Devices were lost in crowded markets, public transport, two-wheelers, parks, weddings, and religious places.
