pm to launch 27-storey, 184 flats complex for MPs today
New Delhi, Aug. 11 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a 27-storey complex of 184 Type-VII flats for Members of Parliament (MPs) at Baba Kharak Singh Marg, Connaught Place, on Monday at 10am.
Officials said he will also plant a Sindoor sapling (bixa orellana) and interact with construction workers. Each 5,000 sq ft unit has five bedrooms, dedicated office spaces for MPs and their assistants, and staff quarters. Amenities include power backup, firefighting systems, structural safety, and a green building design meeting Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment (GRIHA) 3-star and National Building Code (NBC) 2016 standards.
"The inclusion of dedicated areas for offices, staff accommodation, and a community centre will support MPs in fulfilling their responsibilities," an official statement said.
